The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO)
was established in the Los Angeles area in 1964. It is a nationwide
non-profit organization and based on Five Philosophies:
Everyone Plays -- At least
half of every game.
Open Registration -- As long as there is space
on a team, every child who signs up will play.
Balanced teams -- To promote balanced competition,
experienced players must be distributed evenly among all teams
in a league.
Positive Coaching -- Train and encourage coaches
to understand and offer positive help to players through encouragement
rather than negative criticism.
Good Sportsmanship -- Create a positive environment
to promote positive behavior on the field and on the sidelines.
